Jennifer Jackson joined the firm in July of 2002 after having served as Assistant County Attorney for Henderson County.  She has continued her work in the local government area by assisting the City of Marion and the Town of Old Fort.  Jennifer also provides the McDowell County Schools and other non-profit agencies with legal assistance.  Primarily a transaction attorney, much of her time is spent performing title examinations, conducting real estate closings and preparing legal documents, including real estate documents, wills and powers of attorney. 

 

Jennifer graduated cum laude in 1990 from Clemson University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  She was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 1993 after receiving her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the McDowell County Bar Association.  Her fraternal associations include Alpha Delta Pi and Phi Delta Phi.  Jennifer has served on the board of directors of several non-profit agencies including the United Way of Henderson County, The Healing Place, Inc., and Family Services of McDowell County.  She is also actively involved in St. John’s Episcopal Church of Marion where she assists with their Food Pantry and the Godly Play Sunday School Class.  Her charitable and volunteer efforts also extend to the Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc., American Red Cross, Relay for Life and the Corpening Memorial YMCA.

 

Jennifer is married to Phillip Jackson, a partner of the firm, and is the proud mother of their daughter, Emma.  She enjoys hiking and biking in the beautiful mountains surrounding McDowell County, reading and volunteering at Emma’s school.
